Wow, this is very well done. I really like it. Keep up the great work. :3
I like to ask you something. I'm going to be writing a short story about this little scene. I'm going to be writing about what may have went through Yuri's head as he just sinks into the ocean. I would like to ask for your permission to use this picture as the cover art for the short that will go on FFN when it's done. All credit will go to you for drawing it, and I'll make sure to put your name into the summary so that people can find you to see even more of your work. If you tell me no, I completely understand.
This is really good, I like how all the colors are tinted by the aer tinged water, but I can't help but think that this picture can't be canon. Yuri fell from well over a mile up, if he had landed in the water he would have gone 'SPLAT'. In my mind, Duke saved him while he was falling.
Actually, if he fell in just the right way, he would have survived even from that height. Granted, he probably would have had quite a few broken bones, but he would have survived.
If you think about it, when he woke up in his room, he was very much injured, and almost barely able to move. Estelle would have healed all his major wounds, including broken bones.
But you have a point. When he wakes up, he's not A) sick from being wet and B) wet at all. (thought it is not specified how long he was missing.)
If it were me, I would think that Duke went after the sword first because it probably fell just a bit faster than Yuri did, and then used the sword to control the aer just enough to slow his decent. Then again, I think waaaay to into things. XD
Makes sense, but from the reaction of the others I'd say he was missing for quite some time - if I remember correctly (I've only finished my first playthrough and am still printing guides for the second XD), Flynn set out and searched for him a few times. That might have taken a few, but at least one month (or at the very least a week) and until then he shouldn't be wet anymore. Plus, if he didn't get too cold while being wet, he shouldn't have gotten sick. He probably didn't eat though, so a) Duke fed him or at least gave him to drink while he was asleep, as a motive we could assume that he reminded him of himself (like Khroma? or someone else said) or b) Flynn has high-speed boats and ultrasound to search the bottom of the ocean or c) we have a time paradox OR d) there's something we've been missing.
A)Ioder Dein Nomos can only be wielded by a member of the royal family, who is meant to be emperor or empress. So far, Dein Nomos has had two wielders: Duke and Yuri. With this implication, this means that both Yuri and Duke have some sort of royal blood.
B) Flynn lived in the castle. Rather close to Estelle's room, implying that they knew each other. Also, in First Strike, Flynn is seen talking to Estelle.
C) Raven knew Yuri from the events of First Strike. Yet he never says so, barely even hints on it.
D) Rita should have recognized Yuri's Blastia.
E) How does Repede get his scar?
F) It is implied that Yuri is a complete orphan that somehow came to live with Flynn when they were younger. Just how did they meet?
I have yet to watch the first strike, I've ordered the DVD but it won't be delivered before Christmas unless some sort of Miracle happens T-T (Same for my book to learn languages and Tales of Eternia, for which I got a PSP. If I manage to combine these two, I could play tons of Japanese PSP Tales of games! ...if it only were that easy OTL)
a) I gotta pay attention to this one on my second playthrough, to be honest, I kind of assumed that it was more of a royal possession, than something that reacted towards royal blood.
as for the others, like I said, unless miracle gel can actually perform miracles, I'll have to wait for my UK-imported DVD to arrive T-T (After all, it wouldn't make much sense to play the game in English but watch the movie in German, right?)
Oh dammit, I'm so sorry for writing so late ;A; And unfortunately, that thing called "time" took away quite a lot of my memories of the game... And I can't play it again right now because my room needs to get painted first and that might take a while >_>
And I keep forgetting to call the book store that should have a book in March :V
wall scroll? Sounds fancy! X3 Though to be honest, on my wall there's just no room left >_>
I remember that scene very well and my reaction when i first saw it. I was like "OMGOSH YURI!!!! NO!!!!!" then i was so relieved when Duke saved him AND when he was reunited with Estelle. That scene made my day, well night actually lol. Then i was REALLY hoping for a side quest where you get to fight Sodia. It was a huge let down when there wasn't
